Scout.com writer Brian Eldridge recently talked with Pikeville senior running back Daric Pugh about his season and recruitment.
Here is an excerpt:
“I don’t worry about hitting anybody,” the 6-foot, 200-pound Pugh said. “I don’t shy away from contact.”
On the year, Pugh has helped his team to a 5-2 record rushing for 873 yards and 18 touchdowns. While people may question his speed initially they find out quickly that Pugh isn’t just a bruiser for Pikeville.
“Every time I get a long run, people are like, ‘I didn’t know Daric was that fast.’ I have only been caught from behind on time. That was last year.
“I can lay into people too, but when I get into the open field it’s hard for people to catch me,” he continued.
Pugh has heard a little from one school and would like to hear more from a few other programs in the area.“I get stuff in the mail from Marshall. I went to Kentucky for a prospect visit. I didn’t get a tour or anything. I would really like to hear from UK and EKU,” he finished.
