PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Following a 5-6 campaign in 2014 which included a 4-2 mark in the Mid-South Conference East Division, head coach Allan Holland Jr., and the University of Pikeville football team are ready to begin spring practice.
Preparations on the field for the start of the 2015 season begin on Monday, March 23 and last through April 16 when the Bears will kick off their annual Spring Game at 6:30 p.m. ET at the Hambley Athletic Complex.
Prior to that, the Bears will conduct 14 practice sessions at different times and locations. Four will be conducted at a local high school, on April 11 they will go to Wheelersburg High School in Ohio and the rest will be on the home turf at Hambley.
This will be Holland Jr.’s first spring as the head coach since taking over that position prior to the 2014 season. The first-year coach added 41 student-athletes on National Signing Day last month, including seven mid-year players already on campus.
Spring practices are open to the public, including all high school coaches and prospects. For times and locations, call 606-218-5369 or email AllanHolland@UPIKE.edu.
