The Murray State Racers won for the 19th straight time Saturday in an 82-72 victory at Austin Peay in the Dunn Center in Clarksville, Tenn.
The Racers improved to 21-4 and 11-0 in the Ohio Valley Conference, while APSU fell to 7-17 and 2-8.
T.J. Sapp and Cameron Payne each scored 27 points and combined for 15 of MSU’s 25 field goals.
Sapp was mostly responsible for an amazing 11-0 for the Racers in the final 1:41 of the first half. Sapp scored 10 points in the run as the Racers jumped in front at the intermission 42-26.
When Payne hit a 3-pointer to start the second half, MSU had its largest lead of the day at 19 points 45-26.
MSU led by as many as 21 points with 16:00 remaining before APSU cut the lead to 56-50 at the 8:52 mark.
The Racers managed foul problems and pushed the lead back to 79-66 with a minute left and made it to the 82-72 final.
The Racers get ready for another big week in the OVC. They host SIUE Thursday at 7 p.m., then travel to Cape Girardeau, Mo., next Saturday (Feb. 14) to play Southeast Missouri State at the Show Me Center at 6 p.m..

Game Notes
MSU pushed their road winning streak to eight with the win. MSU hasn’t lost on the road since the Xavier game (Nov. 24) in Cincinnati.
The Racers made it to the magic 80-point mark tonight and are 14-0 this season when doing so. MSU is 41-3 in the Coach Steve Prohm era.
Prohm is 7-0 against Austin Peay in four seasons. MSU leads the all-time series with the Govs now 77-41. MSU is 28-27 in road games. MSU has won five straight at APSU since their last loss in 2009.
MSU hosts Austin Peay at the CFSB Center on Feb. 21. The 1 p.m. tip will be televised by the CBS Sports Network.
APSU was the final team in the OVC that MSU had not played. The rest of the season, the Racers play all West Division teams.
