LEXINGTON, Ky. – The forecast for heavy and consistent rain in the Lexington area has caused Saturday’s baseball game between Kentucky and Alabama to be postponed. The teams now will play a doubleheader on Sunday beginning at noon ET with both games scheduled for seven innings.
Fans with tickets for the series finale originally scheduled for Sunday at 1:00 pm will now be valid for game one on Sunday. Tickets for Saturday’s originally scheduled game will be valid for game two, scheduled to begin approximately 45 minutes after the completion of game one. Due to limited capacity and physical distance seating in place to host safe and healthy events, a reserved ticket will be necessary for each game.
Fans will be able to enter using either ticket to watch both games on Sunday. Priority reserved seating will be given to the fan with the designated game ticket of game one with Sunday’s ticket and game two with Saturday’s ticket. Fans without the designated game ticket may find any available physically distance seat or space on the berm. The ticket office and Kentucky Proud Park gates will open at 11:00 am ET on Sunday.
In Friday’s series opener a tight game was blown open with a seven-run seventh inning from Alabama, leading to the Crimson Tide’s 10-1 victory at Kentucky Proud Park. Senior first baseman T.J. Collett walloped his 37th career home run, moving him into a tie for fourth on UK’s career list.
Both of Sunday’s games will be aired on the SEC Network Plus/Watch ESPN app, as well as the UK Sports Network for radio.
