MOREHEAD, Ky. — Morehead State sophomore defensive lineman Colt Briggs has been named First-Team Academic All-District II by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
One of the highest academic accolades in collegiate athletics, the national program features athletes with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average and is voted on by CoSIDA members. By being a first-team selection, Briggs will go on the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.
Briggs, a native of Wilmington, Ohio, has a 3.70 GPA in biomedical sciences.
He has accumulated 36 total tackles in 2015, including a team-best eight in the backfield. Briggs has started all eight contests.
