The OVC Champion Murray State volleyball team is headed to Lexington to take on Kentucky in the first round of the 2018 NCAA Tournament as announced on the selection show on ESPNU, Sunday evening. First serve is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., Friday at Kentucky’s Memorial Coliseum.
The Racers earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament after defeating Austin Peay, last Saturday in the OVC Tournament championship match. It is the fourth time in program history that Murray State has made the NCAA Tournament after 2003, 2014, and 2016. It is also the second time the Racers have matched up with the Wildcats, having done so at in Bloomington, Indiana in September 2009.
Kentucky enters the tournament as the #10 overall seed after claiming the SEC crown following a 22-4 overall record and a perfect 18-0 record in conference play.
Purdue and East Tennessee State are also in Lexington and will open the regional, Friday at 5:00.
