Pike Central to Host Phelps at Johns Creek

For the first time in nearly 20 years, high school basketball will be played at Johns Creek, Saturday, January 21, at 7 p.m.

Players and cheerleaders from both Johns Creek and Mullins (1993) will be recognized at halftime.

Johns Creek and Mullins consolidated in 1993 to for Pike County Central High School.

Here are more details:

The administration of Pike County Central High School, along with its feeder schools, Mullins and Johns Creek, are excited to announce this upcoming event! On Saturday, January 21, during the Pike Central Hawks’ 60th District match-up with the Phelps Hornets, the last Varsity Teams and Cheer Squads from both Johns Creek and Mullins schools will be recognized. The last graduating class before the consolidation was the Class of ’93.

The game will take place at Johns Creek School at 7 pm, and the recognition will be at halftime of the Varsity game. There will be a freshman game and JV game this same evening with the freshmen taking the floor at 5:30. We are in the process of contacting participants on either Varsity Team or Varsity Cheer Squad. If you participated and can be in attendance for the recognition, please contact the front office of Mullins School (432-2733) or Johns Creek School (631-1097) to register. We are looking forward to packing the Johns Creek Gym and creating an “old school” atmosphere for this year’s team!
