Kentucky earned their first win of the season Saturday, defeating New Mexico State 62-42 in front of 49,669 fans at Commonwealth Stadium.
Quarterback Stephen Johnson and running back Boom Williams led the way for Kentucky. Johnson finished the game 17-for-22 with a career-high 310 yards passing and a career-high three touchdowns. Johnson had 51 yards rushing on 10 carries.
Boom Williams added career-high 181 rushing yards on 18 carries with one touchdown. Williams has 1,682 career rushing yards and ranks 14th on the career rushing list at Kentucky.
