Pikeville had a big scoring night from 3 Panthers to hold off the hot 3 point shooting of Johnson Central for a 97-92 Senior Night win.
PIkeville’s Wyatt Battaile had 26 points, Cody Charles scored 25, and Clay Slone put in 23 as Bart Williams’ team improved their record to 16-14 on the season.
Johnson Central dropped to 16-12 on the year, but when down firing as Mason Blair poured in 33 points. Cole Crace chipped in 23 for the Golden Eagles.
By the end of the night, both teams combined to make 27 from behind the arc, with JC making 14 and PHS putting in 13.
The Panthers play Piarist in the 59th district tournament on Feb. 22 at East Ridge High School. Johnson Central will play Sheldon Clark at Paintsville High School in the 57th district tournament on Feb. 23rd.
