LEXINGTON, Ky. – Lindsey Corsaro, who signed her National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Kentucky in November, was one of 24 high school players named to the 2016 McDonald’s All-American Game girls roster, it was announced Sunday evening.
Corsaro, a 6-foot guard out of Roncalli High School in Indianapolis, will play for the East team in the game, which will be held at 6:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday, March 30 on ESPNU. The game will be played at the United Center in Chicago.
The selection marks the seventh consecutive season that a Kentucky signee will play in the prestigious game. The Wildcats have had 10 McDonald All-American selections during head coach Matthew Mitchell’s nine-year tenure. Current Wildcats Makayla Epps, Alyssa Rice, Janee Thompson and Taylor Murray also played in the game.
The honor for Corsaro is the second in the last few days as last week she was named one of 25 players to the Naismith Trophy Girl’s High School Player of the Year presented by Hilton Worldwide – Midseason Team. The Naismith High School Trophy presented by Hilton Worldwide is determined by a national Board of Selectors.
Ranked as a five-star recruit and the No. 35 player in the nation according to the espnW HoopGurlz Top 100, Corsaro is having a fantastic senior season for Roncalli, averaging 26.9 points per game along with 10.2 rebounds per game, 3.3 assists per game and 2.8 steals per game. Corsaro has scored over 20 points in 16 of her 17 games this season, including a pair of 40-point performances early in the campaign. On Nov. 10, 2015, she poured in 41 points in a 79-65 victory against Perry Meridian before a 42-point showing in the 76-74 win over Pike on Nov. 14.
Prospectsnation.com lists Corsaro as the 15th-best player in the nation, saying Corsaro is “a big wing who excels playing off the bounce … will be good making reads in pick and roll situations, but can also stretch the floor with the perimeter jumper.” Though Corsaro went down with an ACL injury during a game in January 2015, she was still named to the All-USA Indy-Area Preseason First Team prior to her senior season. Corsaro has long been recognized as a top prospect in Indiana, as she was named to the IBCA Underclass All-State Team in 2013 and 2014 and added IBCA Underclass Supreme All-State honors in 2015. Last season for Roncalli, Corsaro averaged 22.4 points and 10.4 rebounds per game, as well as 2.9 assists and 2.5 steals per game.

Net proceeds from the games benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities. Since its inception, the McDonald’s All-American Games have raised more than $11 for the charity.
