Report: Eastern Kentucky Football Hires Head Coach

WTVQ’s Alex Risen is reporting that Eastern Kentucky University has hired Tennessee assistant Mark Elder as the new head football coach.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Sources confirmed late Monday night that EKU football has tabbed Mark Elder to lead the program moving forward.

Elder was most recently at Tennessee under Butch Jones as the tight ends coach and special teams coordinator.

The Case Western Reserve graduate (2000) was at Cincinnati from 2010-12.

Elder coached the tight ends, running backs, safeties and special teams at various times while in Cincy during his three-year stint with the Bearcats.
