EKU star forward Javontae Hawkins has been named the National Mid-Major player of the week. After a stellar performance from Hawkins in the EKU Hoops Classic, it’s no surprise that he is garnering national attention.
Hawkins averaged an impressive 21.6 points, 4 rebounds, and 3.6 assists this weekend as he led Eastern Kentucky to wins over Ball State, Longwood, and S.C. State; improving the Colonels to 4-1 on the season.
EKU Head Coach, Dan McHale, has consistently praised his veteran forward in post-game interviews this weekend. It’s been a great season for Hawkins thus far, where he’s turned in one mind-boggling performance after another. He leads the Colonels in points per game, and eagerly contributes in the rebounding and passing categories.
Congratulations, Javontae Hawkins! Go Colonels!
