PIKEVILLE, Ky. — It’s not a trick, more of a treat, as the University of Pikeville men’s basketball team gets an early start to its regular season at 7 p.m. ET on Monday against Central Penn at the East Ky. Expo Center.
After finishing last season with a 28-6 record and advancing to their fourth NAIA National Tournament in the last five seasons, optimism is high for this edition of the Bears. That confidence got a boost last week when UPIKE was picked to finish first in the Mid-South Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll.
But speculation and polls can only take you so far, so head coach Kelly Wells is excited to take his bunch into battle for the first time against the Knights from Summerdale, Pa., and see where they stand.
Tickets are available at the East Ky. Expo Center for $6 and the game can be heard live on East Ky. Broadcasting’s ZRock 107.5 FM.
