RICHMOND, Ky. – Colonel fans can get a sneak peek of the new-look Eastern Kentucky University men’s basketball team on October 24, the Saturday of Homecoming Weekend.
First-year head coach Dan McHale’s Colonels will play a Maroon-White Scrimmage that morning on the main floor of McBrayer Arena. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. The scrimmage will get underway around 11:45 a.m.
The Maroon-White scrimmage is free and open to the public. Fans tailgating for the 3:00 p.m. football game versus Tennessee State are encouraged to stop by Alumni Coliseum to check out the action.
There will be a brief autograph session following the scrimmage.
McHale, a former student manager at Kentucky (1997-2001) and staff assistant at Louisville (2001-03), took over an Eastern team in April that went 21-12 and reached the quarterfinals of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament last season.
EKU returns two starters from last year’s squad in senior guard Ja’Mill Powell (8.2 points-per-game) and junior guard Isaac McGlone (5.5 points-per-game, 86 assists).
The Colonels open the 2015-16 campaign with Coppin State at home on Friday, November 13.
