LAS VEGAS — The AmeriLeague and former University of Pikeville men’s basketball standout Kenny Manigault have agreed to terms of a contract that will allow the Ridgeville, S.C., native to enter this year’s AmeriLeague draft. Per league policy, terms of the contracts were not released.
In his senior season, Manigault led the Bears to the NAIA quarterfinals, averaging 18.3 points, 3.3 steals and 6.3 rebounds in three postseason games. UPIKE advanced to the NAIA National Championship quarterfinals where it lost to Talladega (Ala.).
In addition to earning 2015 NAIA Player of the Year honors, Manigault finished first in steals (83) and 16th in scoring (19.4 ppg). He was also recognized as Mid-South Conference Player of the Week twice, leading to the MSC Player of the Year honor and inclusion into the 10-member All-NAIA Championship Team.
“I’m excited to join AmeriLeague,” said Manigault. “The league has produced some exciting buzz, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to take part in it.”
The AmeriLeague draft will commence on October 22nd. The inaugural season will tip-off in November. All AmeriLeague games will be available on-demand through major cable and satellite providers. Game tickets are available for purchase on AmeriLeague.com
