Breathitt County and Pikeville squared off in their one and only pre-season scrimmage Thursday night at Hillard Howard Field.
Pikeville’s Daric Pugh picked up right where he left off last season. Pugh took a pitch from quarterback Cody Dials and darted down the sideline for a 45 yard touchdown run.
Pikeville scored again on the very next play. Quarterback Wyatt Battaile hit receiver Evan Rhodes for a 30 yard touchdown pass.
Pikeville opens the season Aug. 21, at Prestonsburg. Breathitt County opens the 2015 season at home against Perry County Central August 28.
