BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Former Hilltopper Basketball standout T.J. Price will suit up for the Chicago Bulls in the 2015 NBA Summer League, the organization announced Tuesday.
Chicago begins its summer league docket with preliminary games Saturday versus Minnesota (5:30 PM CT), Sunday versus Toronto (5:00 PM CT) and July 14 versus Brooklyn (4:00 PM CT). Upon the conclusion of the preliminary schedule, the Bulls will be seeded in a tournament-style circuit that will determine the champion. Every team is guaranteed to play at least five games.
The Las Vegas summer league features 24 teams competing in a 67-game schedule from July 10-20 at the COX Pavilion and Thomas & Mack Center. The NBA also holds summer leagues in Orlando and Salt Lake City throughout July.
Price also played in the prestigious Portsmouth Invitational Tournament for college seniors in April, where he averaged 9.7 points and 2.7 assists per game over three contests. He shot 41.7 percent from the field and 38.9 percent from three-point range in Portsmouth.
Price ended his college career as WKU’s all-time leader in three-pointers (286) and finished sixth in career scoring (1,782). He appeared in 125 games and made 109 starts during his four seasons as Hilltopper, and he played in two NCAA Tournaments during his time on The Hill. He averaged 14.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game for his career.
Price finished as the 2014-15 regular-season scoring champion in Conference USA and ended the season at 17.1 points per game and was named to the All-C-USA First Team. He finished third in C-USA in three-point field goal percentage (.413), three-pointers made (81) and threes per contest (2.5). The Slidell, La., native hit double figures 27 times in 2014-15 and had 20 or more points in a game 11 times. He started all 32 WKU games this season and also added 5.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game.
