MOREHEAD, Ky. — The Morehead State baseball program has announced additional schedule adjustments for the next few weeks. This weekend’s home series against Coppin State has been cancelled.

Morehead State will now travel to Sumter and Lexington, S.C., for a trio of games against three different opponents. The Eagles will open with a doubleheader on Saturday at Riley Park in Sumter. MSU is set to play UNC Asheville at 1 p.m. ET and New Jersey Tech at 4:30 p.m. Riley Park was built in 1934 and recently refurbished. The facility is the former home of the Atlanta Braves’ single-A affiliate Sumter Braves.

On Sunday, MSU will face George Mason at 11 a.m. at Lexington High School’s ballpark.

MSU has also rescheduled its game at Kentucky, originally set for Wednesday. That contest is now slated to take place on March 25 at 4 p.m. in Lexington, Ky.

UNC Asheville is a member of the Big South Conference. The Bulldogs are 2-4 this season with wins against Miami (Ohio) and East Tennessee State. New Jersey Tech (NJIT), located in Newark, plays as a Division I independent. NJIT is 1-1 in 2015, splitting a doubleheader with George Washington. George Mason competes in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Patriots are off to a 1-5 start, with a victory over Kansas State on opening weekend.

Morehead State is 5-2. The Eagles opened the season with three wins in four tries at nationally-ranked San Diego and won the series over Dayton, 2-1, last weekend in Georgia.
