Wildcats to Face Nebraska-Omaha, Northeastern, Mt. St. Mary’s; UK-Morehead Rescheduled
LEXINGTON, Ky. — Due to inclement weather in the Kentucky area, the UK baseball team has altered its home-opening week and will now travel to Port Charlotte, Fla., to play four games, facing off with Nebraska-Omaha, Northeastern and Mount St. Mary’s, starting on Friday morning.
Kentucky was slated to open its 2015 home schedule on Wednesday vs. Morehead State and host Canisius in the first home weekend of the year. UK’s new home opener will be on March 3 when the Wildcats will play host to Murray State at 4 p.m. at Cliff Hagan Stadium.
Due to weather concerns, UK will now venture south to participate in The Snowbird Classic at the spring training facility of the Tampa Bay Rays. UK’s midweek tilt with Morehead State will be rescheduled for March 25 with first pitch at Cliff Hagan Stadium slated for 4 p.m.
The Wildcats (3-3) will face off with Nebraska-Omaha at 10:30 a.m. on Friday in the first game of the weekend. UK will play a twinbill on Saturday, starting with Nebraska-Omaha at 11 a.m. and concluding at 2:30 p.m. with Northeastern. UK will conclude the weekend vs. Mount St. Mary’s at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
All tickets for the Morehead State game will be valid for the rescheduled game later in the season. All tickets for the Canisius series Feb. 27-March 1 will be redeemable for two free general admission tickets to any remaining regular season home game, excluding April 28 vs Louisville. Tickets may be redeemed in advance at the UK Ticket Office or Cliff Hagan Stadium on gameday, while supplies last.
The games will be broadcast on the UK Radio Network, with Dick Gabriel voicing the action. Fans in Central Kentucky can hear the games live on Fox Sports 1580-AM or online at UKathletics.com.
