5,295 watched the Racers push their home win streak to eight at the CFSB Center in Murray, Ky.
MSU improved to 18-4 and 8-0 in OVC play, while the Colonels fell to 11-9 and 3-4.
Jarvis Williams scored his 22nd career double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds and Cameron Payne had his second with 21 points and 10 rebounds. MSU had five in double-figure scoring including T.J. Sapp with 14 points, while Jeffery Moss added 13 and Justin Seymour 11.
It was Seymour’s 3-pointer with 37 seconds remaining that forced the game into overtime.
When MSU scored the first seven points in the overtime, they completed a 30-15 run after they trailed EKU with 11 minutes in regulation time. From this point through the final, MSU’s defense came alive and held EKU to 6-of-20 from the field for 30 percent.
The Racers outscored the Colonels 15-8 in extra time and hit 11-of-14 from the free throw line.

Game Notes
The game marked MSU’s first overtime game since the final regular season game last March at SEMO, which ended in a 114-110 defeat. This was MSU’s first home overtime game since Feb. 2013 when they defeated Austin Peay 90-81 in double overtime.
The Racers wore gold uniforms for the second time this season after they first wore them against Tennessee State (Jan. 17). The game was a BE BOLD WEAR GOLD day at the CFSB Center.
Updating MSU’s trio that is making a run at the MSU 1000-Point Club: Cameron Payne has 997 after his 21-point performance tonight. Jarvis Williams has 858 and Jeffery Moss has 832.
Payne’s 10 rebounds is a career-high besting the seven he had this season at Xavier.
The Racers are back at home Saturday to host the UT Martin Skyhawks at 7 p.m.
