Former Basketball Standout Chad Posthumus Joins Professional Team in Canada

MOREHEAD, Ky. — Former Morehead State standout Chad Posthumus has joined the Mississauga Power in the National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC). The eight-team professional league, which runs from November through February, is in its fourth year.

Posthumus, a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, recorded 574 points, 595 rebounds and 55 blocked shots in two seasons with the Eagles. As a senior in 2013-14, the 6-foot-11 center averaged 9.6 points and 10.9 rebounds while shooting 51 percent from the floor.

In 2013-14, Posthumus ranked second nationally with 4.3 offensive rebounds per game and fourth with 10.9 total boards per contest. He posted 10 double-doubles, 17 double-figure scoring efforts and 20 double-figure rebounding performances during his final campaign.

Posthumus earned All-Ohio Valley Conference honors from College Sports Madness after the 2013-14 season. He was also recognized by several Canadian media outlets throughout the campaign.

Posthumus played for the Chicago Bulls during the 2014 National Basketball Association (NBA) Summer League. He registered 13 points and 10 rebounds in 48 minutes over a four-game span.

Posthumus began his professional career with Levanga Hokkaido Sapporo in Japan.
