RICHMOND, Ky. – This past summer, NFL Films was on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University exploring the straight-on kicker in conjunction with the Ray Guy Prokicker.com Camp and Dean Hood Football Camp. That feature, “NFL Films Presents: Best Foot Forward” will air Wednesday, Nov. 12 on Fox Sports 1 at 7 p.m.
The show will re-air on Fox Sports 1 this Sunday, Nov. 16 at 9 a.m.
NFL Films had a crew filming and interviewing at the summer camp while looking at how kicking has evolved from the straight-on approach to the now more dominant soccer style. They examined the trends in the kicking game and what’s ahead for the future.
Pro Football Hall of Famer Ray Guy – the first pure punter to ever be named – was at the camp. Guy was a straight-on kicker when he did placekicking.
Prokicker.com, founded by former Colonel football player Rick Sang, delivers the best instruction in the business in the kicking, punting and long-snapping aspects of football. It’s a proven winner with nearly half the punters in the NFL having some connection with the camp.
Meanwhile, the current group of EKU Colonels (8-2, 5-2 OVC) will play their final home game of the regular season this coming Saturday, Nov. 15 against Murray State. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
