BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — WKU welcomes Pikeville (Ky.) to E.A. Diddle Arena at 7:00 PM (CT) Monday for its lone exhibition game before the 2014-15 season gets underway Saturday at home against Austin Peay.
WKU finished the 2013-14 campaign with a 20-12 record and a 12-6 mark in Sun Belt Conference play, and the Hilltoppers begin their inaugural campaign in Conference USA in 2014-15.
Following the matchup against Pikeville, WKU turns its attention to its 96th season of basketball beginning Saturday at 4:00 PM (CT) versus Austin Peay.
Pikeville finished 2013-14 with a 31-3 record and a 17-1 mark in the Mid-South Conference, and finishing the year in the second round of the NAIA Tournament helped the Bears to a number-five national ranking at the end of the season. The Bears featured four postseason All-Americans a season ago.
Pikeville is 3-0 so far this season and has lost a pair of NCAA Division I exhibition games to Kentucky and Tennessee.
