PIKEVILLE, Ky. — The University of Pikeville had eight players named to the All Mid-South Conference East Division Football Teams, league officials announced on Wednesday. Five Bears earned first-team honors, while three more were named to the second team.
UPIKE’s first teamers include offensive lineman Brandon Ball, wide receivers Aaron Jackson and Shawntez Johnson, running back Seth Millar and linebacker John Dudley Hilton. Those on the second team include offensive lineman Travious Bridges, wideout Shawntay Zachary and defensive lineman Desmond Davis.
For Hilton, it is his fourth stream All-MSC East Division selection, making him an all-conference performer in each of his four seasons with the Bears. Hilton ended his collegiate career with a program-record 296 total tackles and record 181 solo stops.
Ball is next in line for multiple awards after also being named all-conference in 2013 and 2012, while Johnson and Millar are picking up their second straight honors.
Jackson, who transferred in this season from Western Kentucky, Bridges, Zachary and Davis are all first-time selection to an all-conference team.
Like Hilton, Millar also leaves UPIKE with his name high in the record book, finishing with a program-best 508 total carries. Millar tallied 84 points this season, the second most in school history behind Calvin Joplin with 90 in 2005. Millar’s 14 touchdowns were also the second most in a season, behind Joplin once again with 15.
Johnson leaves UPIKE third on the all-time receptions list with 128, including a 90-yard touchdown catch in the first game of the season at Bluefield which is the second longest pass play for a score in program history.
The sophomore transfer Jackson also made his mark on the record books in just one season, finishing with 667 receiving yards, the fourth most in a season, and hauling in eight touchdowns which ties for second in a season.
