LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky men’s basketball team is set to host in-state foe and 2014 NCAA Tournament participant Eastern Kentucky in Rupp Arena on Sunday, Dec. 7, it was announced on Thursday.

A game time and TV network will be released at a later date.

The Colonels and Wildcats will meet for the 11th time in program history and 10th in Rupp Arena. UK currently holds a 10-0 edge in the series.

EKU is coming off a 24-10 overall season that included an Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Championship and a trip to the 2014 NCAA Tournament. In the opening round of the tournament, EKU led No. 2 seed Kansas with 8:55 remaining in the game and trailed by five with just 2:28 left before the Jayhawks pulled away for an 80-69 win. It was the Colonels’ eighth appearance in the NCAA Tournament in program history.

UK and the Colonels last met in during the 2006-07 season. UK claimed a 78-65 victory in Rupp Arena behind a career-high 25-point effort from Randolph Morris. This will mark the first meeting between the two schools in the John Calipari era.

In addition to UK’s matchup with EKU, the Wildcats have also announced dates with Kansas (Nov. 18), Texas (Dec. 5) and UCLA (Dec. 20) as a part of the 2014-15 non-conference regular-season schedule.
